Thirteen contestants came from all around the US on Friday July 19th, 2007 and met the Warick Hotel in Downtown Manhattan for the beginning of the Miss Liberia in the US Pageant activities.

Friday
When the contestants arrived, they were greeted by sponsor MacDella Cooper who hosted the contestants for the entire week during their stay in New York. Ms. Cooper presented the contestants with welcome bags which included a book by actress Victoria  from the Young and the Restless and cosmetics from Estee Lauder. During Ms. Cooper talk to contestants she encouraged them to enjoy themselves during their stay.

After their meet and greet session, contestant had a heart to heart session where they got to know more of each other and had a slumber party. Where the contestant spend the rest of the evening laughing and joking a fell off to sleep in the wee hours of the Mornin.

Saturday
After breakfast the ladies packed up to spend the rest of the weekend in the Hampton. The ladies stayed in the most exquisite 10 bedroom contemporary summer home with and miraculous backyard waterfall swimming pool. They were completely spoiled during their stay. Miss Kathy provided all the contestants with menu of healthy fresh cuisine. Omelet made to order, bagels lox lots an lots of fruits, pasta salads tossed in wonderful tasting vinaigrette steak cooked to order barbecue chicken. The ladies automatically fell in love with Miss Kathy and Miss Kathy made 13 new friends.
The following the morning the Ladies got ready for rehearsal boot camp they ladies spent most of the morning and into the afternoon practicing their group performance afternoon lunch and some much needed downtime. They set out tour the Hampton shopping district and then it was back off to the city!!!
2hrs later we arrived at the Sheraton NY on 42nd in Times Square. After the contestants checked in, they immediately went for a night tour Times Square as they toured Times Square they were greeted and took photo ops native New Yorkers throughout the entire evening.

Monday
The Contestants were invited to stay in a New Penthouse Apartment on the corner of 72nd and Central Park West. This area is the home for many famous celebrities such as Howard Stern, Chris Rock. The Penthouse was located right across the building from the John Lennon building. Upon arrival to the Penthouse the contestants their platform recordings and prepared to attend the Regis and Kathy show and their visit to the UN.

Tuesday
The Ladies woke up at 5am in the Morning to attend the taping of the Regis and Kathy show. Much to all of our surprised we saw Regis Philban walking to work accompanied by his bodyguard again to everyone’s amazement Regis walk right up to the contestant and greeted each and every one of them the ladies shook hands and gave warm hugs and stayed to do a photo op. He then went off to tape the show which was featuring no other that Academy and Golden Globe award winner Jennifer Hudson After the taping of the show, Regis once again met with the Ladies in the Lobby of the hotel and this time introduced us to Gilman. Regis then instructed his staff to do special taping of Promoting the Miss Liberia in the US Pageant. Which will air on Friday July 27th on ABC at 9am Eastern.

After the taping the ladies returned to the penthouse where they prepared for there visit to the UN Mission.
The Ladies arrived at the UN Liberian Mission Office where they were greeted by the Liberian UN Ambassador and his wife.
The UN Ambassador congratulated the ladies and talked to them about the current situation in Liberia and how each and every one can do their part to part to help. He then challenged the ladies to help in the development in Liberia's youth by strongly promoting education. The ladies also had a time to ask the UN Ambassador many questions about Liberia's Welfare from the TRC to feeding Liberia's children. The experience was very touching for me and it will be something that I will never forget.

Wednesday
The ladies set out for the city of brotherly love Philadelphia PA where they were received by the ladies of LUWIP "The Liberian United Women in Progress". Upon their arrival they attended a welcome at the famous Phillips seafood. Members of the press were attended the event. The ladies sat down to a scrumptious seafood cocktail reception and many photo ops were taken.
